I've had this problem from the start of my guitar journey. Although it is getting better I still have this problem. I've been doing a little research and had read somewhere that Danny Gatton I believe it was used to take a Celuloid pick and score it in a cross hatch pattern with a utility or exacto knife. I thought I'd give it a try and it works (so far, it's only been a couple of days).
Just thought I'd pass the tip along to fellow members.

I tried that a few months ago, but didnt work so well for me. So I just glued some sandpaper to it.

I have a skin condition that casues my fingertips to sometimes feel almost like there is powder on them. I have found two things, first the type of material that the pick is made from, I use claton ultum golds, they are some kind of polymeir that I really like the sound and feel of, but also they don't seem to slip as bad as when I use celulous picks. The other thing is that there is a product called goralla snot. that comes in a little container and you just rub a very small amount between you thumb and fingertip and it makes them slightly tacky kind of like no-skid for your fingers, and the stuff works great. When my skin condition is really flareing up, I use the stuff, its about $5 for enough to last a year or two http://www.zzounds.com/item--GRSGOSNOT

ya its got a kind of weird name but its kind of like that stuff that people who work in offices use on their finger tips so that they can sort papers and stuff, but with more grip

Really wish they'd called it something else...
