Hello Everyone, My name Is Mark and im 34 and from Nottingham in England
Ive finally raised the Cash to do a 3 month Sub to the paid content so im gonna give it a shot.
I tried to Learn Guitar back when i was a teenager but i found it all too complicated as there was no DVD lessons then let alone the Internet, It was just old Stuffy textbooks that wanted me to play 1960's stuff id never heard of. So as you can imagine my Guitar became an ornament and pretty soon i gave it away to a good home.
Ive always wondered what i might have accomplised if i had kept with it, but my mindset was stuck with "nah its not my me i just dont have the talent, ability, patience etc" So even my mindset was pretty negative about the whole thing.
I came across David's Videos on Youtube totally by accident i was actually looking for a Nirvana video and there was Dave with a video on how to play Teen spirit, So i watched that and enjoyed his banter so i looked up the rest of his vids and i watched a few and thought "this doesnt actually look all that hard once its been broken down"
Anyhow his enthuiasm became infectious and after hearing about his website coming up i thought well why not give it another go, So i went out and bought a cheap electric Guitar, It is a bit cheap and rough and ready but it can be replaced down the line, and a crackly little pratice amp. The most important thing is that my interest has been reawakened like a pheonix and im really up for it.
The downside is my sum total of guitar knowledge is about 10 chords that i change between very very badly, My right hand technique is woeful and basically i just need to start from scratch and go again.
So he I am and im ready to give it a shot, If David can teach me then he can basically teach anyone, so thats a good challenge to his system.
Ill come back to this post with some first impressions to the learning materials once ive done a few modules and had a practice, Not to bore you all with but just to keep as a kind of journal for myself.
Peace Out
Mark.
