hey all,
I'm in a jazz band and would like to know what scales and modes (other than the minor pent) to play over a chord proggression with Fmin7,Eb9, Db9, and C9. Any help would be appreciated:D

Hi tbone15,
you can start with a basic pattern: the minor pentatonic in F
It will sound like this (just recorded on the fly):

or you look for the right scale over each chord.
Here is another basic recording:

... this just to begin with.
Greetings

Try using mainly the notes in each chord as the chords go by. (Arpeggios)

And connect them with F minor scale tones, or even chromatic notes.

You should use F Dorian or F Melodic Minor, Eb Lydian Dominant, Db Lydian Dominant, and Finally C Altered or C HW Diminished. Yep.
