Hey there:

New to amps, just got a acoustic/electric guitar, what should I get for an amp. Some people say acoustic amp only, but I would like to use a electric guitar in the future. On a bit of a budget. Thanks for your help:) :)

I know a lot of guys using a regular electric amp for their acoustic. Although I never have I have an acoustic amp I'm going to try as I'd like to try out some overdrive on an acoustic and a few pedals just for kicks a giggles.

a good starter amp would be a 10 watt but a 20 watt is great. i know nothing about acoustic/electric so im not sure amp wise. im not sure about what type of amp you should get either but i would go for the acoustic amp.

a good amp would be a line 6 or crate with a DSP. you have a few effects to choose from, and itll give you the "all in one" feel. a little 15-20 watt amp will do you just fine.

In all actuallity, any electric amp will do you just fine, you dont *really* need an acoustic amp.

I have a little line 6 amp, if you would like to hear it, i can make a little video to hopefully help you with your decision.

hey there, obviously it all depends how much cash you are gonna spend, if your serious then a little more now will be better than upgrading later.
i have an electro acoustic, i took mine to shop and tried a few, in the end i went for a VOX 30 valvetronix, sounds great with all guitars and plenty of effects to annoy the neighbours
rock on :D

Sometimes I just need more volume rather than effects, etc. If you're on a budget like me, another thing you can do is plug your acoustic into an electric amp. Then flatten everything (turn your dials all the way to the left). Add a tiny tiny bit of gain and jack the master volume all the way up. This will give a reasonably clean amp'd sound to an acoustic without all the overdrive and distortion, etc.

Don't forget to turn the master volume down when you turn the gain back up.
