"Drummer & Bassist Needed" seems to headline 90% of the flyers in most music stores. Just an observation.

By the way, have you checked at your area music stores? About every one I've ever entered has had some sort of tack-board for posting requests like this. Posting there will help find those in your area also.

Another note(advice)-
Getting OUT of a band is usually WAY more difficult than forming or joining one. You'll see. Don't let it discourage you, though. Just imagine having a full year booked, performing every weekend, then someone decides to just quite. You're stuck trying to find a replacement and trying to get the covers down that week. You usually end up canceling shows. Club and bar owners hate it, and usually treat you like $^#% from then on. I've always given a several-month notice when I've wanted to move on.

I never realized drummers were in such demand. I took my girl to karaoke last night and the dj chick stops me and says "do you play drums or guitar?, i'm working on a band " so I said welllllllll "I played drums for about 12 yrs, but I sold em when i moved to florida about 8 yrs ago." she said "thats ok, i have drums, let me know if you are interested"

tempting, but being that i work night and weekends I'm thinking it wont work

The hardest thing to find for a band is the drummer. I'm finding that out now. Everyone wants to learn guitar because it's awesome, or bass guitar because it's funky.

No one seems to like drumming though.

hey now, drumming kicks a$$....not that guitar doesnt but theres no better way to take out your aggressions than on a nice drum kit.I used to hit so hard i would bust heads and break cymbals... problem is, you really need a place where you can practice and not p.o. the entire neighborhood and i think thats one reason drummers are hard to come by. I sold my kit because i moved and there was no way i could have em in my apartment :mad:

lol i suck and live in MN but im fit in the age catagory lol im sure their are lots of ppl in chicago that play the guitar and in the age group but tthey might just suck lol good luck on finding someone:cool:

hey man i live in ireland i too am starting a band at the moment i must admit drummers are very hard to come across over here!!ive played guiatar 4 years now nd have just bought a set of drums hoping some1 mite b interested if the drums are there for them

Well I know that there's not many people in Canada around my area(Belleville), but ever since me and my band disbanned last year I'm having one heck of a time trying to find a drummer, Bassist, and lead guitarist to once again try and make it big in my area( I just simply miss rockin out and disturbing the peace LOL)
