SRV and his solo playing

I know SRV liked to use mainly the pentatonic blues scale for soloing but how did he emphasize the chord change?
Did he play the scale based off the key and emphasize the change by playing a chord tones ONLY included in the pentatonic blues scale
or did he go outside and add in chord tones that were not included in the blues scale?

I'm know expert nor I don't know for sure what Stevie used to soloing but
one thing I've discovered is that most of the blues guitarist uses the G Mixolydian and Gm Pentatonic (think T-Bone Walker) so it's kinda like "getting out" of the classic blues scale by using a hybrid scale.

I think BB King use some similar hybrid scale. Hendrix was a god at this.

So probably Stevie was doing the same thing (since he was inspired by most of them)
