Hi Guys

Just been watching the tutorial on powered speakers, i use a POD x3 and want to get into home recording. I am interested in buying some powered speakers but not sure what to go for...i think David said his were KRK Rokit 5's?...and do they have to be powered individually?

Also do they connect by 1/4 jacks or is XLR the best option?

I dont play live so i guess the monitors would be better than an amp for me for home use.

Im very new to studio monitors so any advice would be great.

Thanks

what's your budget?

I think some of the best nearfield monitors for home use would be a set of genelecs out of a crown power amp , but that can get a little pricey

I have the KRK Rokit 5's they are 75watts each and each has its own power amp so each one needs its own power supply, I have those setup to one computer that all of my pedals and amps are tied into, I recently bought a pair of M-Audio AV-40's which are 20 watts per, one slave and one master with vol control that I have on my other computer that I go online with, that way I can play u-tube backing tracks and have my electric running through a little GuitarPort that I picked up. Kind of fun, and better sounding for that aplacation than computer speakers

I have a pair of Samson Resolv40a in my small home studio. They work very well for the few dollars I spent on eBay to get them. But then again, I'm not a trained recording studio technician. It would think it would be tough to select a great monitor without having them in a side by side comparison.
