:rolleyes: ok i know how to do the different tunings like drop d, slack and so on but how can i do it without putting too much stress on the strings? as i do it and the strings break so easy :confused:

Always tune down and you should be fine, the lower strings can take tension but that high E will break if you go over, say, F or F# almost guaranteed.
Other option is to place a capo and raise the entire tuning of the guitar x semitones depending on where you place the capo :D
On a completely unrelated question.. How come a string can't take being tuned up very well (the treble strings at least) without breaking yet using the trem. bar you can go up a lot more without them going haywire? (Sorry, found the pun irresisitble)
