What is your reason for joining the website?

Learning songs just from reading tabs or chords is not at all easy for a beginner, I was trying before I found the NLG videos and was beginning to get a bit bored really. Basically we can learn songs a lot faster here because we get full explanations. Sometimes I still like to check out the tab now but I use David's videos to show me how to play the song then I am able to use and understand the tab better.

A big part of the reason I joined is that I can take a lesson any time day or night at my leisure. In my underware if I want:eek: Another big part is that David and Tim present the material in a way that makes more sense to me than any teacher I've ever had. http://guitarscanada.com/Board/images/smilies/rockon.gif

after many years of fooling around with a guitar i am finally getting interested in learning a bit of theory. also, i see this as a chance for picking up some new songs. you get in a rut after a while, as im sure you folks know, and every so often you feel like raising the bar again on what you can do or know. the theory part has always been a mystery to me but i figure it cant be that hard if you dig into a bit. at least i am going to give it a try.

The reason, i came here ( havent joined the payed member section yet ) is because i like how David and Tim do a great job at explaning how to play
the songs, they make it fun and exciting and i dont find myself saying " aarrrrgg practice again? noooo " anymore. I actually cant wait to come
grab my guitar, tune it and press play in the videos. I beleve that with
NLG's method i can play the way i've always dreamed of, one: for myself and for the love of music, and two: to be able to serenate the ladies :D

I've let my guitar playing lapse in the past 10 years. My best friend, myself and one other friend finally decided to get our act together and play. Now I'm practicing like mad.
I've was a programmer since the days of BBS's and i was a web designer when websites were born. I used to program in 21 languages. I've seen websites come and go. Ideas come and go.
Then I see this goofy YouTube video that actually taught me something in 5 minutes. So i checked out the other vids by Tim and Dave and decided I liked them.
Its been a long, long time since I've seen a fresh idea this well planned and executed. These guys have a lot of potential and a lot to teach. They have a lot of drive, an enthusiasm not found in many experienced teachers, and a desire to make every person here the best (and happiest) guitarists they can be. They also appear to have the business minds to make this a successful venture, and like it or not the bills have to be paid.
I knew right away this was something I wanted to be a part of and become a great guitarist in the process. I hope my small contribution in the forums helps others get as much out of this site as I am. Its a valuable resource and it would be great to see it successful.
Cheers!

They do have a lot of enthusiasm. I was running our yearend procedures one saturday night late and my employee had both brought our electric guitars and amps. We were just messing around and somehow stumbled on one of Dave's vids. Same thing.. We learned some thing sin like 5 minutes. We were hooked. One other thing.. This site probably has one of the best Arnold impersonations in all guitarlessons websites around..

Finally a site where people don't give you the old "here are the chords, just listen to the song to get the strumm"??? If we could all do that then we would know every song by now wouldn't we :) Thats why I like this site.

LOL Why did I join this site.
On one of my youtube videos, I watched it, and at the end it displays some videos which have the same tags as the video that you just watched. I see this guy with a hat on backwards saying "Ratt The Next Level Guitar", so my interest was perked. I get on there to see this wild guy on guitar teaching one of my favorate ratt songs and said to myself "this guy is great lets check out the site." Well, here i am. LOL
Dave and Tim are doing such a great thing for the less experianced guys, and the more experienced guys can relate to him as well, which is great!

To be honest I am taking notes on what he does. Im in school right now studying music for my major. I plan on teaching when I am a bit older so I am trying to take some notes from what he does. Also, you can never stop learning things on guitar so hopefully I will pick up a few things here and there.

im here to help me with timing and progressions. i dont have the money for a membership so the free vids are a huge help. youtube has a lot of crappy vids that have boring people doing the songs. these videos arent the best quality but its good enough and the sounds match up with the video....thats really all i can ask for

I am happy for this site. I can learn much more now than ever befor. It is very helpful, watching video lessons and follow them, reading how others make progres, and so can I do something better for my self to make a way of progres in playing guitar. And it is fun.
Thank you for this site !

A bit of both i suppose. It's good to watch Dave play a song i thought i knew well but realised i wasn't quiet right, so that way i can learn from my mistakes.
Also it's the feel good factor of been in a community of friendly guitar orientated people.
