View Full Version : Server not found. Sucks!

For the past 3 days I've only been able to get on here for maybe 10 minutes. I frequent about 10 of these forums per day. Not a problem anywhere else on the web. I see threads have been going on here throughout so it has to be just me.

Anyone know why?

I don't get "server not found", but the site is very very slow now.

I know that elsewhere some have suggested switching to Firefox browser, but that's just bypassing the problem really.

I guess this will be sorted out soon, so I'll be patient !!

Well, it's been working great for the last hour. I only use Firefox and thought that might be the problem. Tried Explorer and Netscape but got the same response.

Hopefully whatever problems I was having are gone. I missed you guys. Had to hang out with the old people at Telecaster Discussion for 3 days. I smell like BenGay now.:)

This is my frist day on the webpage since they started the upgrade last week. I've tried from three different computers in two cities and on three different networks. Keep getting 404 not found :(

Hopefully the problem gets fixed soon.

Tim

Tim here, wanted to give you a quick update. Important, for
existing members click the address below you will be able to log
in and use the lessons with your user name and password

We upgraded our server last Monday and had a glitch. This will be
corrected in 2-3 days. That is why we had the backup server address
listed above. Please do not post to the forum at this address just
use the video lessons.
Here is a cool little behind the scenes at Next Level Guitar video

If you click the orange subscribe button you will receive a notice

Tim,

What's weird for me is I can still get to the forums at www.nextlevelguitar.com/aforum (http://www.nextlevelguitar.com/aforum) and up until about 30 mins ago the lessons at nextlevelguitar.com were working fine for me. Now I get redirected to http://66.36.243.138/~nextleve/ (http://66.36.243.138/~nextleve/) and since (I would imagine) I just subscribed today, I can't login at the http://66.36.243.138/~nextleve/ (http://66.36.243.138/~nextleve/) site. It says "incorrect username or password". My username there is the same as my username here in the forums.

Also, I was able to get the initial emails for signing up, but the email notifications in the forums aren't working -- I have never received one even though I check "Instant email notification" and my email address is valid (I just checked it).

Help!

Tim,

I'm having the same problem as JD. I signed up today at work, but now not working at home. I can get to the site at the new link, but can't login. Is this where the temp login comes into play?

Earlier I said:

I think I figured it out. I'm on the list of members who have not been email verified. Is there any way to send the email out again? I realize now that I never received it this morning when I joined.

My email address in my profile is valid, and tested. Thanks moderators!

Make sure your spam filters on your email account aren't catching them. Its a common problem with web based email providers.

Thanks, I always check my spam. But how do I get the email re-sent to me?

I'll see what I can do.

It is a Gmail account, so all my spam goes into a folder. I review it all before deleting it permanently. Can you please just validate my account so this madness can be over? lol Feel free to email me or I'll email you or whatever it takes to make this happen.

Also, today when I go to the main site to watch the video tutorials it now goes to the nextlevelguitar.com website (not 66.36.243.138/~nextleve/ (http://66.36.243.138/~nextleve/)) which is great. However, when I try to login it says that I have an invalid username or password. I paid yesterday morning, and I've been locked out since my post yesterday. When will this be resolved?

And the site is extremely slow...

I was very excited about this site, but I have to be completely honest... I'm very frustrated right now. Please do what you can to help restore my faith!

All we can do is ask that you be patient. This is not a site issue, its a server issue. We're dealing with other companies here, and other tech departments.
David, myself, and other staff members are having the exact same problems as you are, so don't think we're ignoring you. When we're fixed, you will be too.

I'll send you a temp login, hopefully it will work for now. As far as the email, thats something for the Admin, not me. And he's currently trying to deal with the bigger problem.

I don't know if this helps, but I tried the password reminder page it said "Sorry, no corresponding user was found". So it looks like new accounts from yesterday morning got vaporized.

fyi, I fixed the email verification issue by going into my profile, changing my email address... that spit out a new verification email and now I'm no longer hanging :)

Are you still having Login issues on the main site? For some odd reason we still have 3 or 4 members that seem locked out altogether and I'm trying to get the techs to mop these last few up.

I'm in! And back watching videos like a madman!

I got an email around 7pm tonight from Marian that also included a new login password:

"We are sorry for this incoveniece but we had some problems with our users database when we moved our server to another hosting provider. Now everything is fixed so you can enjoy our quality work from the nextlevelguitar website as much we enjoyed working at it."

So I'm finally good to go!

Aw crap. LOL. And I just finished firing off an email to him about the problem. I guess I'll be getting a response really quickly...
