I just ran across this iGuitar, a USB-based electric guitar that will also simulate other instruments, plus write sheet music on the fly. There are two videos I found online.

I'm an IT guy myself, so this is intriguing to me... I can see a lot of guitars offering a USB output in the future.

thats kinda cool, I wouldnt have a use for it but I could see a market for it.

I just got a digitech multifx that has USB, plug in it and tweak the effects on screen as you play...i'm a tech geek too so I'm havin fun with that

I seen them before, they looked pretty cool and were built in decent guitars. Couldn't see myself spending $1000 or more on one though. Maybe if I had a studio where I spent most of my time.

that was near the low end for them, up to $2000 and over for the higher end models
