Hey guys,
Looking for some advice on Amp Settings. Not for a particular song but rather what each does.
I have a Peavey Rage 158 Amp and despite playing around with the settings quite a bit I can never seem to get the sort of sounds I'm looking for.
All of the switches and knobs on the amp confuse me (pre gain, post gain, modern/vintage switch, equalization(low,mid,high)) and I haven't been able to figure out how each one effects the sound I'm getting.
I also have a Marshall Jackhammer JH-1 distortion pedal and basically only use that if I am attempting a lick of some variety within the metal genre. Again the settings in that are a complete mystery to me.
If anyone has these and could offer some advice I'd be most appreciative. Anyone with general knowledge about the above or the difference between overdrive and distortion, frequency, contour, treble, gain. Again I'd be appreciative.
