Hey all,
I purchased a new Dimarzio D-Sonic pickup a few days ago and installed it in my guitar. For those who are looking at upgrading I can tell you that it's not that difficult if you take your time and practice your soldering skills on something other than your main guitar first.
It took me about an hour to get my new pickup installed...that included taking off the old strings, removing the original pickup, installing and soldering the new one. Reassembly of the guitar..and restringing.
Here's a vid of the new pickup in the guitar showing the new sound.
Note: It's more harmonically balanced and brings out all my mistakes ;)

Here's the same song with the stock pickup:

I picked the same peice of music so you can compare. I also used identical settings for Volume/Gain/etc to keep it fair. The original files (not compressed by Youtube) do have a volume difference that isn't evident on youtube...sorry about that part.
