Like a fool I tried to play around with the action on a guitar I don't play much. (I do still like to play it some) Peavey preditor. On the bridge I adjusted the action down and got some fret buzz so I played with the fine tuning adjustments on the bridge. (I don't know what there called) You are able to adjust each string on most guitars. On a telecaster for example each one has 2 strings. What can I do to get it working properly again. No buzz. and have a lower action. I'm playing with this guitar so I don't make the mistakes on the ones I play all the time. Is there a standard setting or some web-site somebody knows about. I just want to adjust the action and take care of the fret noise.

You can find dozens of sites by just typing "guitar setup" into any search engine(google, yahoo, etc). I just grabbed a couple to get you started.
Basic Guitar Setup Tips (http://mysite.verizon.net/jazz.guitar/guitarsetup.htm)
Basic Guitar Setup (http://www.gibson.com/magazines/amplifier/1997/10/tipfile.html)
Fender's Setup Guide (http://www.fender.com/support/setup/othersetup.php)

Do your self a favor and drop it of at a local mom and pop music shop and for about 25 bucks get it set up right.
Been there done that.

I agree with Harley on this one.
Learning to do your own work is both a rewarding and educational experience.
I used to drop my guitars off to have work done, but I figured it this way. I'm a guitarist, I should be able to work on my own instrument.
Here's a great site with lots of helpful tutorials/reference/etc

Keep at it Bounty...you'll get it if you take your time. And think of the money you'll save and possibly make once you get good. ;)

I've been playing long enough I need to know how to do some of this stuff. Thanks a ton. Its a peavey preditor that I want to learn on thats it. fix the bridge, change pick ups that stuff.
Thanks again guys. Oh hey disobediance from your other thread your right its a lot more about how you play than the equipment you play through.

Hahah...thanks Bounty....I've been having that discussion with people for years. I just try to save people money when they decide that to sound like their favorite guitar hero they need to use the same gear. ;)

I knew you could do it!!
Plus I find it gets me more in tune with my instrument when I know how to work on it and make it play the way "I" want it to ;)
Congrats!
