Hi everyone!
I have just bought a guitar, thought I might start playing. I bought a set with everything I need with an electric guitar. With the set I got a 10W. It's only three settings on it; volume, hight, low, and a button "over drive".
How would I do so it sounds like rock or metal? I just can't find the right settings.

I can try to help out. What's the brand name on the 10W?
I'll look it up and send you some settings to try.

It's a Gardisten Instrument BC-08.
Thanks for your help!

I can't find a pic of the amp so I'm going to make some asumptions here ;)
Try setting the Overdrive On
Set the Bass to about 6
The Volume at a comfortable level
And the Hight around 4 to 5.
I don't know if you'll be able to get a really Heavy sounding distortion from the amp so try to apply some extra palm muting to give it some "Chunk"

I don't know if the settings on the guitar will do it more hevyer, do you know? If so, what settings should I have there?

If you want an Ozzy sounding song like iron man, use the back pick-up, turn the tone down, and see if that sounds a little darker. :D
I'm kinda new at this, so if doesn't work, mess around with what ya got.

on your guitar, try keeping the volume up all the way. this will help give it a more overdriven/distorted sound, as well as having the "OD" button on your amp set on.
for the pickup selector, try all the way closest to the neck or all the way closest to the bridge. the one closest to the neck might be the one you should try first. then use the TONE setting on the guitar, turn it all the way to the right or left. then gradually move it until it sounds how you want.
with the amp, the HIGH and LOW are treble (high) and bass (low). maybe set both in the middle at a 12 o'clock position then increase or decrease them depending on how it sounds coming out of your amp. if you have a real floppy/farty bass, try cutting the bass out some. if you dont think there is enough treble coming out, try the pick-up selector switch all the way to the bridge and turn the HIGH knob so its maxed out.
you should start to get an idea of what sounds you have available to you playing around with those knobs

Thanks very much for your help! I try that tomorrow, if I try it now my neighbour would not be happy. He is probably sleeping now ;)
