I'm wondering if any of y'all have ever had, have or played a Guild GAD 50? If I'm not mistaken Fender bought Guild? If thats the case I wonder what impact that had on Guild's quality? I'm a lefty so I'm thinking of a Guild GAD 50L, but I doubt that it would review any different than the GAD 50. Hey if anyone has any feed back, post away.

Thanks

i have some expensive electrics, an gibson SG and a guild starfire , but am still on the first guitar i bought a guild GAD 30, and LOVE it. it's chinese made unlike my other guitars, but it's really opened up nicely and the fit and finish are great. it has tons of volume and great tone, i've tried lots of differnt srtings and i find the elixer nanowebs really give it a beatuiful bite i love. money isnt a big issue for me, so i went to my guitar store to try out some other acoustics, high end guild , taylor, in the 2000-3500 range. i was surprised i didnt like them more. the guild neck is small and easy to manage, and just feels right to me, maybee cause i learned on it. but tone wise, i really wans't blown away, yes the jumbo's had a fuller sound than my parlour body, but tone was, i thought mine was at par, in some cases better ( than the american guilds) the taylors had a fuller bottom end, but lacked in clairity vs this GAD. i think their great guitars, however my guitar tech who's a great player tells me , yes the GAD are great guitars, but i got especailly lucky with this one. and he's normally very honest with me cause he thinks i'm a spoiled brat, which is probably true, he had nothign good to say about my gibson sg supreme. but he can't put down my guild GAD. the 12th fret guitar shop in toronto is one of the top shops around, and i read alot of what they write about different guitars, they say the GAD is the best value for money out there and i can't disagree.
