Sounds like most of these threads are staring to get TOO political. This forum was set up for the use of knowledge about guitar and guitar teachings through song and music. Now when I come to this forum I am starting to read about how some are tired of reading this and that and some people don't ask the right questions. Now it's about grammar and run on senetences. Jesus people are we here to start picking eachother apart or are we here for what this forum was meant for! Guitar and Guitar teachings. This thread is for once in the right spot being trash talking and spam.

I was not calling anyone out here. It's just the fact that I like to read these post but I can't even freaking understand what some are saying. Hey, I like to B.S. just as much as anybody. I could care less about the post on here. You can post your family tree for all I care. I just thought it is funny that some people make it hard to decipher what they have written.

I agree with you somewhat, the forum is primarily about playing and learning guitar and it does serve it purpose well. I don't see it as getting too political at all, I see it as a group of friends getting together at a guitarist BBQ, party, bar whatever ....you couldn't just go and talk about nothing but guitars. sometimes people just have to say "hey did you hear about this....." or "check out this fool crashing is skateboard into a semi ....."

I think it helps people get to know each other , learn new things, learn about other people. Personally I like to learn about other people and what it's like in their part of the world.

as far as bickering or picking people apart, that also happen when you get a large group in one place. all of mods try and keep it under control but not be overbearing, we really only step in if it's warranted and I think we let alot of stuff go.

most of the issues are for busting:

"no foul language" well thats pretty self explanatory and sometimes very hard to call as to what is or is not.
"multiple posts/request" everyone heard you the first time, repeating it 40 more times isn't going to make it happen faster

and the only thing I really got annoyed about was the song requests, we posted some simple instructions, asked over and over to follow some kind of format so staffers could track who requests what, trust me i tried to make a list and it was a nightmare, the request section is dong much better now :-)

By the way run on sentences and no paragraphs just make a post hard to read thats all. nothing against the person who posts em but spacing is easier on the eyes

I agree Quad, I realize that this thread is in the right spot, but what burns me is that when I come in and read a post that is personally picking someone apart for posting what they feel is a legitimate question and a few others joining in to help the cause.

That kind of stuff isn't needed here. I agree yes there is A LOT of people on this list now and in such a short time, and yes stuff will be said and things will be discussed and some of it should be picked at.

And yes there are some topics and rules that yes are too political , this is a free speach forum or at least it should be. Without the flaming and profanity of course. After all is said and done it would be nice to come to a forum like this to sit down and talk about the things that interest us including guitars.

That's all, I don't want to start anything here I figured I would just type my oppinion as I can't voice it lol. This is a great forum and a great site overall and the wealth of knowledge on this forum is nothing short of overwhelming and that's great. So lets continue to Rock On!!!!!!!!

sorry i'm stuck on the "guitarist BBQ"!!!!..how cool would that be!!!...guitarist everywhere ...bbq sauce on guitar necks...picks in the potato salad!!!..nice!!
i'm not into the new world internet speak either..but i get the jist of a post...but i realized when reading posts that people are posting from all over the world and english may not be their primary language...so i give those people alot of credit for getting a point across in another tongue...god knows i couldn't do it in another language. I think the forum is broken down into the correct catagories and if people post where it belongs it works perfectly. I'm a memeber of tons of forums both for fun and professional...and i have said it before and i'll say it again...this forum is probably the best i've ever been on...bar none...the site i get my tabs from has a forum and it's nothing but a flame fest...the mods here do an outstanding job keeping things organized, controled and updated...oh and whiskey...at least it's your Cousin/Mother and not your wife/sister...:eek: ..sorry couldn't resist that one...:D
