Today, I scored a Crate GFX-65. Used, in nice shape, from some chick. $50.

Has a bunch of on-board effects. I think it sounds a little better 'clean', using pedals, though.

This little amp is very LOUD. My first Crate. Anyone else play one?

i do, i have an old g-250. it makes a really good paper weight. i think the crates, or at least the ones i have played have no low end what soever. they are very powerful(loud) but i just didnt like the overall sound of them. i am however getting ready to star using the power amp part of mine to drive my new cabinet.

I have said many of times, Crate Cabinets are the worse ever. A Mesa or Marshall cab with a Crate Blue Voodoo, enough said it will blow you away.

It does seem to have a sound all its own. By that, I mean there is a very noticable hiss that emenates, whenever it is turned on. But, once I unplug it, the noise goes away. :D

Crate.......rules.......I'm a big fan of Crate.....I have a GTD 120/212 that really rocks and I just got a G412 cabinet to go with it........they will take a lot of abuse..........Just my 2 cents......
