Whats the best recording software that you can download for free?

I use Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ , and I think it is pretty good...

If you have a Mac or Linux machine, Ardour (http://ardour.org/) is almost as capable as something like ProTools and is free.

Audacity is probably the best for a PC. I love it. I wish it had more effects to add but I really enjoy messing around with it.
