hey everyone. I'd like to hear about any experiences with the Marshall MG series. I'll probably be getting either a MG15MSII Micro Stack, an MG250DFX or an MG100DFX and i'm definitely going to try them out, but even so... which one would you recommend getting or not getting.

None, I haven't heard anything good from them, but I never tried them out so I can't give an opinion
BUT for the same price you could get a tube Peavey Valveking which I am sure will sound better

Your choice on it.

i just went this past weekend and tried all the top or the line marshalls. i did not like any of them at the volume levels i will be playing at. but the ones i was playing were the tube type, which i think the mg's are solid state. but i may be wrong. i know the mg half stack was just on sale for 499 last week at guitar center. but i didnt get a chance to play on it.

They have a very distinct and imo unnatural sound. I primarily play covers so it was a nightmare for me. I suppose it could be good for originals if you like the tone (crazy?) but for most folks its not going to be the best choice for the money.

Thanks everyone... i'm going to get a solid state, and it will ultimately come down to which one i like better testing in the shop... and that will probably come down to the Marshall MG's or Line 6 Spider III's. Thanks again.
