I'm looking for a new amp, and I hear good things about fender tube amps but I've never played on one. I'm trying to find a bluesier sounding amp, for probably around 1000 or under. Any suggestions?

Hm... Fender would be a good start, you'll want a tubed amp I am sure.
If your cheap try this

Really something I can't respond too as I don't know much about amps for the blues. By go to store and "Crank and Play" some fenders and such and if you like it, then read my signature ;)

Fender Princeton Recording is really nice http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Princeton/
Has some great tone and very cool features like driving the amp hard but keeping the volume down ;)

Also if you haven't heard yet...I'm a fan of Kustom amps. The 36 Coupe has some pretty wide ranges of tones.

Fender Hot Rod, Peavey Classic, or Traynor all great choices, basically the same tones from each series... they come in varying sizes from 1x12 or 2x12, 30 watts up to 100.

These are all very very clean tube amps that have a nice sounding overdrive.

+1 on the Traynors. And you can't beat the warranty.

People seem to shy away from the crate name a bit. I love a good bluesy sound and I look for a Crate Palomino every time I go into a shop. Good sound, solid rep and good price. Crate Palomino V50 or V32

I also have a blues deville but it was purchased in '93. I love that old tweed thingee ma jig. I am thinking about adding a twin reverb but how many amps does one old guy need? AS MANY AS HE CAN AFFORD I RECKON!

Peavey Classic 30, very versatile, will do great blues on either the lead or clean channel and will kick up into some serious rock crunch territory as well. Look around your area shops, craigslist, etc. You should be able to find a used but well treated C30 at a very good price.

I just picked up this amp too, except in a custom white tolex version called white lightning. maybee costs an extra hundred for that vs the standard but comes with a different speaker. the tone outta this is beautiful, i hook up a hollowbody guild starfire and get some great twang, and it acutally makes my gibson supremem w/ 57 humbuckers sound bluesy.

i dont' gig, so this has more volume than i would ever need, at 3 it's crazy loud and it goes up to 12, but white i like most about this amp is dynamics. My marshall tsl has a much better rock tone, but is very similar in volume when yoru sturmming lightly and hammering the strings. this fender is much more responsive and i alays have about 30 % more volume if i choose to dig into the strings, not sure if that's good if you have a singer, but to just play, it's nice.

I'm looking at the Fender Vibrolux, 2 10" speakers, 40 watts for around $950. If you need more power the Fender Twin Reverb is nice but expensive. Both are great for the blues or harder rock.

As I have said on all amp postings...

Fender Blues or Hot Rod. With a grand to spend there are so many options for amps, a lot of good tubed amps for that price. Just go play them all, they'll be something you love. Personal choice Hot Rod Deluxe (1x12 Fender Tube) I'm not sure but I think the 2x12 Hot Rod is under 1000 as well. Kustoms are nice, Mesa Boogie's are great amps as well.
