I just bought one of these things. Its great if your on the pc. I would like to know if anybody knows if there is a pod or anything that I can download my settings to so I can play through an amp. I have several tones/sounds saved but I'm unable to play them through an amp. Maybe I am and I just haven't figured it out yet. Help.

Oh, and is it just me or does Line 6's tech support lack quite a bit in the support department.

Line6 tech support does lack, the GuitarPort was not designed to hook up to an amp it was designed as a computer interface only, the Pod, Podtx ect are designed for both, I beleive that even though the GP is not designed for direct hook up, in the manual for it, it gives a couple of things to try, I upgraded to the PodXT so that I would have both options, I can have it run through my computer with all of the software stuff but also patch it directly through my amp and access all of my saved files. The Line6 web site has lots of stuff on it, just finding it is the tough part :-)

the PodXT stores your user persets in its memory, I beleive that the GP stores them in the software on your computer, If you get a PodXT you can then download your GP settings onto the XT

So if I'm understanding correctly you can take the POD xt and imprt (with the gearbox software) for example the ac/dc's sound for back in black then play that through an amp. That is exactly what I'm looking for. I can do that on the computer now but with no way to get it to an amp. Am I correct or missing it?

Thanks ez-one

ya on the Pod the user banks I beleive are like 17a thru 32 d you can take something using gearbox, save it to one of your user locations (name it) then when you hook your Pod up to your amp you can access it. I have done a couple like the lead guitar for Joplins Summertime, just cause I liked the smooth sound of that guitar. Just remember to give it a name you will remember or at least remamber the location, I have also over written a couple of the Factory presets that I had no use for and replaced them with some BLues stuff I could use.

THe Guitarport was designed as a guitar/computer/recording interface, they are still a blast for $100, the PodXT allows all of that but then also allows you to save programed sounds and then run through your amp the PodXT Live does the same thing just with even more bells

also in the last year PodXT's have dropped about $100 in price, so you can get some pretty good deals on them
