Hi - no other complaints on this issue. Try with a different browser - we have found mozilla firefox works the best and it can be downloaded for free at www.mozilla.com - that browser rocks!
Take care and enjoy the site.

make sure you have to proper plugins and that your browser is up to date.

There appears to be a router down. If you go to the CMD prompt and do type tracert vp.video.google.com you get the router trace. Mine is showing a time out after reaching the 15th step.
A bit dull really.

that wouldn't cause someone to not be able to see a video. The only thing a dead hop will do is cause intermittent connection to the website making it slow and sometimes unaccessible. Most of the time when a video or graphic doesn't display it's because of your browser or a plug-in for your browser.

Errr with respect it does. If the router can't forward to the destination then you don't get a pong from your ping.
For info, bowser and plug ins are all upto date.

sry to be rude, but I've worked with networks for many years and with that statement all you did was agree with me. Video playback has nothing to do with intermittent connection. A bad hop or a timeout hop on a trace route means a nameserver is down or hasn't been updated. Ernie can access the website cause I see him on the forums all the time, he's having problems viewing the videos, which is a browser or plugin/codec issue. If your problem is different then his make a new post instead of building to his making it confusing.

HR, I think we are agreeing violently.

Well I'm just stating that a bad hop in a traceroute would cause you to not be able to get on the website, not get on it and not be able to see a video.
Besides we're not all gunna get the same traceroute. If someone is having problems viewing NLG videos or any videos for that matter, then it has to be either the browser or some type of plugin/codec like flash player. Now sometimes flash player likes to act up and you have to uninstall and reinstall it. Also there could be the rare occasion that someone's computer might be too old or something, but I doubt that's the case unless they're running a commodore or something(lol).

I can't load anything.
It appears that when you load a video it streams from vp.video.google.com.
When I ping that site there is no pong and all packets are lost or I receive a request timed out message.
It's the same if I go to the Google video home page...can't load anything. Therefore, I don't think it's anything to do with plug ins etc.
No doubt the offending routers (if that is the problem) will come back online again soon.
Thanks for your help.

I would also try and reinstall your flash player plugin just in case it got corrupted somehow
also try this site.... http://kb.mozillazine.org/Windows_Media_Player
you may find a solution there some people have had success by downloading the 3 dll files in the "missing plugin" section and placing them in C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player, per the instructions.
you can test plug ins via this page http://kb.mozillazine.org/Testing_plugins
