Epiphone SG

Im getting my first guitar in a few days! i choosed a epiphone SG cause: i cant afford a gibson and i think SG looks good.Is Epiphone SG a good beginner guitar?

Thanks. i only been playing one electric guitar before. a very old squier at my school. i hope this sg is a little better. price was something like $280
