Paul Simon has always been very vague about what the song was actually about although he does say it refers to something sexual, ie homosexuality in this case. A lot of peolple seem to think it's about smoknig dope and it also references a jesuit priest who was imprisoned for anti Vietnam protests. I guess Paul Simon has just left it up to the individual to make of it what he wants, it's a great song anyway, thanks for posting it up Dave.

Thanks Marty! I appreciate knowing about the origins of songs and lyrics. Lot of songwriters leave it up to the intrepretation of the listener. Thanks for that info - much appreciated.
Rock on!

That a boy Dave! Great song to work on the 16th note strum. Took me awhile to get a handle on that strum .....let alone say 1 e and a, 2 e and a, 3 e.....fast enough. David mentioned its a must to learn and add to your arsenal, "without a doubt". Getting that strum down will open up a whole variety of rhythms to you. Once you get that strum down you can punch in quarter, 1/8ths, 16ths note as needed or chuck or omit notes.....just keep that motion going. Definately will take you to the next level ;)
