Hi everyone,
this is the first video i have made so it is pretty bad, i made it on my digital camera so the sound and picture quality arent that great , when i uploaded it to youtube the video and sound went out of sink but you kinda get the idea of it,

The singing, no comment ;)
But the guitar playing, MAN.. you nailed that about as good as its going to get. Kudo's on the playing.
Anyway i could get an mp3 of that? Id like to, if its ok with you, record the lead parts to it, and add your rhythm behind it.

thanks for the comments, yes i started playing about the start of september last year.
ive not got much gear as ive not been playing long so all ive got for recording is my camera, if you want to take the sound of the vid thats ok, but when i get better recording equipment ill send you a proper mp3 file, ill record it again on my camera without the bad singing then post it up,
im going to learn the lead next and try to combine the two somehow :) maybe a bit much for a beginner

That was well done! I'm very impressed. Watching you play it makes me want to learn it.
PS... I dig your guitar. I wish I could find a nice sounding black guitar.

cheers man
the guitar is actually a sort of sunburst, from dark blue to black if you know what i mean. it was the one that stood out most in the shop and it sounded good so i had to have it :)

Beautifully played fella,
an all time classic and you made it look easy, man I love that track.:)
The singing (unlike the playing) is at a similar standard to myself
Edit: watched the clip 5 times now and still loving it well done and thanks for sharing.

I think you've done a fantastic job the 6 months notwithstanding ... one suggestion you might try is to experiment with a capo at different locations to see if it matches your vocal range a little better.

You think you can't sing - and thats fair enough - but you had a go and it made it all the much better. 'Wish You Were Here' needs to be sung along to.
Your guitar playing is pretty amazing - definately sound like you have been playing for longer than a few short months.

I thought you were playing air guitar...
Well, it sounded a little too perfect to me... and the sounds was not coordinating with the actions... I thought when I went back to read others comments that ya'all would be laughing it up...
The only reason I am confessing my cynicism to you is because I would hope to turn it into a complement - You sound as good as the original! :o
I applause you!!
You were real b@llsy to put that up with the vocals too! I do admire that...
I know I sound like a complete B!tch... but I am saying that because I really think that is commendable. I can't play a complete song or sing with the guitar and sound good... (I can't do that with or without the guitar)... You are a great power of example! I am sure you will get the singing down soon, like you nailed the guitar!
Keep it up... and I hope I haven't offended you.

1)if there are any doubts to how long i have been playing then there are no ways that i can confirm it, all i can say is that i work on oil rigs so i get alot of time of work so somtimes i can be off work for as long as a month and when my girlfriend is at work all i do is play the guitar most times twelve hours a day, so my key to playing the song proparly is plenty of practice,,
2)as for the video being out of time i have found this happens alot on youtube when people up load there home videos ( i dont know why)
3)also the video was my first take no editing what so ever and i couldnt watch it before i put it on you tube (diffrent format) so i didnt relise the singing was as bad as it was but i found watching it has helped me pick up on the parts of the song i cant reach vocaly and i an working on changing the way i sing it to make it sound better, basicly stop trying to sing it like dave gilmore and start singing it like me!!
but thank you for all your kind comments and suggestons they have helped alot

Brian... I see that about the music being off in a lot of videos now that I have been watching more often. And it was really only my first few seconds of thought flitting thru my head. I know it's you : ) I only just started watching u-tube.I posted my motorcycle trip slide show on here and that was about it...
Anyway, I am goofy like that... I think everything is a sham at first LOL! And as you said, you do see the complement in all my mumbo jumbo blabbing, thank goodness! I want u to know that last night i was with a friend for about an hour and he had no idea I was watching or listening to "Wish you were here" and he played the intro! I said that's so cool, I was just listening to it on utube! So... he showed me how to play it... kind of... so I'll practice the little hammer on thing... there were a couple times it sounded so Pink Floydish... I thought wow that kid did a great job. YOU! So it's funny how a person can have a bit of influence in another persons life without knowing who or where they are! That's another reason I appreciate you sharing your growing talent! Hey did you ever read a book called The five people you meet in Heaven? (not a religious book) It was on TV but it didn't portray the book well... It's just about... what I said above... you never know whose life you touch and what it means... in the long run...
ok... i'll shut up now. Enough about me... go play dude!
