I bought a Martin D-18GE in Nazereth, Pa and i was wondering if you knew how to amplify the acoustic sound. I went to a music store and bought an
outboard pickup that fitted over the soundhole but it made it sound like a Telecaster. I would prefer not to drill holes under the saddle but i am seeking that rich acoustic sound. Piezos, slimlines, all greek to me.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Fender makes the acousticsonic several others have their own, amps for accoustics are different than amps for electrics, also you can run an accoustic through a pa system and get a more accoustic sound,

For guitars like that I always push for transducer pickups. the only modification needed is the endpin removed and that hole enlarged to a 12MM hole. DO NOT DO THIS YOURSELF unless you know what you are doing. After that the pickup jack is threaded through the new hole and the transducer is fixed to the inside if the body about an inch from the soundhole just the other side of the brace. This action is easily reversed if you ever wanted to in the future. The sound quality is clean and clear and sounds like a miked accoustic with out the background noise a mike gives.
