at riff A it says play an oh3 and an oh6 in that,i have no idea what oh3 or 6 mean, any hints, and also i belieave the / means you slide into the next note, anyways thats basicly it unless you can describe drop D tuning aswell, but i can search google for that i guess.

oh3

It basically is a hammer on.

Pluck the open string then put a finger tip on the 3rd fret without plucking.

2 notes with one pluck of the string.

5po

Is the reverse of a hammer on. This is a "Pull Off".

Pluck the string holding down the 5th fret and let go without plucking again.

2 notes one pluck.

I should add somthing to this.

The MPA is really cracking down on the tabsites. I beleive, that in this sites best interest, to keep the tab talk down to a very very minimum.

Also, *most* tabs that you find on the internet are wrong, so wrong that sometimes they dont even sound like the song. Yes, ive looked through tabs once or twice, but not in a few years.

I think you should really really start to train your ear to beable to play these things. Alot of songs today, are relativly basic, with no "major" parts in them.

This is all just a suggestion, other than the first part ;)

Dude I was just explaining what a Hammer On and a Pull Off was.

I would find it quite unamerican not to discuss such things.

If this is going to be a censored forum I will stick to the lessons and keep my 2 cents out.

First of all, i think some people need to relax and unwind a bit. Play a nice slow song or something. Chill.

As has been mentioned before, several times, tabs themselves aren't permitted on site. Links to tabs are ok for now. So no harm, no foul. Nobody has done anything wrong. Tabulature is a valid method of printing music and its good to be able to read it. Its great that we have people like Doug in the forums to explain things this well to those wanting to know.

But as was also stated before, if there are complaints about the links to the tabs, by Tim, David, artists, or the tab site linked to, then they'll be deleted.

Then you can argue your constitutional rights with the MPA.

'Nough said....

I really didn't realize he had a link to a Tab site.

I was just trying to help the poor fella out.

And thanks for helping Doug
That's what this site is for, for members to
help each other. I dont think anyone did anything
wrong, as Whiskey said, so far we think it's ok to
post here, but it should be ok to post for certain
porpuses such as this, to answer someone's question only
or else then many of us would just start posting them
just because.

in other words posting a tab (from an external link)for eduacational purposes
should be ok. posting/requesting tabs (from external links) just for fun
then i think they shuold not be allowed. i think...if any of our fellow
mods agree, we could ask Tim if we can enforce this.

this is just to avoid future problems with other sites for taking
their material and posting it here, then as Jstickley said the MPA thing.

That's what i think we could do.

Thanks

Are we limited to posting for only Porpoises or can we post for any marine life?
