Should I remove the protective plastic film on my finger scratch plate on my new MIM strat or leave it on untill I Restring it (which should be fun as I have only done it once on my ovation) when it will be easier to remove ?

The longer its on the harder it is to remove, but it will still come off.

I always take that tuff off as soon as I get a new guitar, I have a friend that leaves it on for as long as it stays. To each their own. Now I did find a product called a Scrach pad that sticks to the back of my Strat so that it doesn't get any rash, but its easily removeable for restringing and such

lol...I got your Unger joke. That's too funny Nlsstar. I'm a bit obsessive about my stuff as well but I don't go as far as you but hey, to each their own.
