when I bought my left handed FG720SL less than two yrs ago I didnt now what to look for in a guitar. Nice solid top acousic sounds great but if I would have known any better I would have got one with a thinner neck. I pick up pretty fast but I know I would be alot cleaner with something that fit better. Anybody ever altered a neck before being a carpenter Im drawn to make a jig and run a router down it followed by some sanding and clearcoat? I think I paid 325 for it and if I bought another guitar right now it would definatly be electric HSS Strat just to mix it up.

let us know how it works out if you do sand it down because I was thinking the same exact thing. pics of the process would be cool too.

I'm thinking you would lose a lot of the integrity of the neck and be very susceptible to bending, bowing, and warping which will drive you crazy because you are getting strange noises and not keeping tune. I believe you'd be doing more harm than good.

Fight the urge to rout down the neck!!!! First off, you don't dnow the depth of the truss rod rout. Second you don't know the pre-tention the truss rod even has stored. Just buy a new guitar that fits your hand. You will like it a lot better anyway!
