So I leave my guitars out when I am not playing them that way I find it easier to pick them up when I have a few spare moments like waiting for the kids and wife to get ready when going out. However I have been told that when I am not playing them I should leave then in thier case. also what temperature and humidity setting should I have in the room that I keep them.

I have hangers on the wall that I leave 6-7 out on. I find that with them out I tend to pick one up and pracice more often. As for the temp oround the 70 mark is where I keep the furnace and my office/music room is right over the furnace so it is a little warmer maybe 72. The humidity I keep regulated to 45-47%. The humidity should be kept between 40% and 50% to keep guitars from cracking, warping or the action moving up and down.

If you won't be playing for a few months, loosen the strings a little bit and put it in its case.

I play every day, so I leave my guitars out. When I'm not playing I like to put a sheet over my rack of guitars just to keep the dust down.

If you won't be playing for a few months, loosen the strings a little bit and put it in its case.
When you have tension on the neck, as you would normally have it if you were playing it, that is how the truss rod is set to counter the pull from the strings. It wont move no matter how long you have tension on it. If you loosen the strings, the truss rod will pull the neck out more, and leaving it possibly, and eventually, certainly, critically damaged.
If you are not going to play your guitar for a while, tune it up, put it in its case, and go back to it when your ready to play it. Everything will be just as you left it.
This is just my observations as a guitar tech.
