Hey all,

I picked up an inexpensive 1st electric guitar ( washburn ) for about 120 bucks and the frets are eatin my fingures up.
Any suggestions or references on how to file these rascals down or should I pay to have someone do it?

a fret job is what your talking about. HAVE IT DONE. I'm a big proponent of doing as much as you can by yourself but, this is something that will totaly screw up your guitar if done wrong.

I totally agree with Bounty...there's a lot of work i could probably do myself too..but my logic is, if i mess it up i'm S.O.F.L. if the luither messes it up, they have to make good.

the only thing I do myself on my guitars is change strings, tune, and play. I figure that for what it cost to let someone trained to do the other stuff its worth it to me. Dressing frets is for sure a tech job.

Cool Cool! 3 outta 3. Looks like I'm taking her to the shop. I appreciate the feed back!

This is one of the most common tasks I have in my shop. I have seen some real sharp fret ends and it seems to be getting more and more common!
