I just wanted to ask which products you use to clean
your guitar. A friend of mine sugested I use one called
'Fast Fret' to make the fretboard shine and easier to
move up and down the freatboard, but another friend
said that with time grease resedue will accomulate
and it's not good for the fretboard.
Any sugestions?
Thanks

Mild soap and water cleaners work fine (I use Fantastic). Avoid anything with amonia, acetone, or bleaches. For the fretboard- use the same then feed it with a very light oil (I use lemon oil). Fancy products are a waste of cash- Oh-and here's a tip: If your strings are dirty- change them.

Ok this is going to sound crasy but I stopped in a musical instrument repair shop. They do all kinds of repair and some on old violins and other stuff. Some of this stuff is old and valuble. The reason I stopped by is I have a Gibson Les Pauldc that is several tears old and had a sweat stain on it where i played at a lot of out door feastivals with the band I was in. He told me to use a Dupont rubbing compund for autos very lightly buffing the stain. I then used Mcquires carpolis to bring back the shine. It worked but I caution all to be very careful and don't over buff as you can ruin the finish. As to cleaning strings take them off and throw them away. You can prolong this by cleaning with a good string cleaner after playing and also use a string conditioner.
By the way if you use the compund and over do it you will ruin the finish on your instrument. So be dang careful!!

apart from scrubbing it . I use "Dr Ducks axwax and string lube" (insert cheering here) umm bassicaly you apply it to the whole instrument and buff it off, never dries... and dirt doesn't seem to wanna hang on.... www.ducksdeluxe.com gotta be patient with it though it's not quick n easy, and when you think your done buffing, buff some more lol made in vegas , wherever that is lol
