Does anyone have one of the Squier '51's?

It seems like it's gotten some decent reviews, and for $99 I've been thinking about ordering one. My local Guitar Center does not carry them in stock. I thought it may be a good guitar for a beginner.

That's what's eating at me. For $99, this thing should be worth it, and they're going to be discontinued. I'm looking to get a Roland Micro Cube and the '51. Should be a pretty good electric guitar starters package.:)

for $99 you can't go wrong and paired with the micro cube should be an awesome combo I think you'll be very happy until you get a G.A.S. attack:D

:D I've had G-A-S for 4 months now. Only money will cure it.:p

If I had the money, I would really like a MIM Fat Strat. But the '51 has caught my attention as a good inexpensive alternate.

You know, there's a lot of truth in your signature.:D

I just pulled the trigger and ordered a Black w/ Maple neck '51. As of lunch today both MF and GC were out of the Sunburst, so I figured I better get the Black before they're all gone to. I'll get my Micro Cube later, when I secure some more funds. Maybe just buy it local.

Sunburst '51. Looks great! Frets were a little rough and needed slight neck adjustment. I changed strings to Fender stainless flat wound and hooked her up to my Roland Cube Bass 100. Sounds great! I'll probably be ordering a Roland 30-X to get more effects/sounds.

Bob, you're lucky you ordered your Sunburst without hesitating. Congrats on the new guitar. IN case you didn't know about it, here's a '51 users group that I came across. Has some interesting reading.

My '51 got in yesterday. I took it out of the box, and didn't have a whole lot of time to spend with it just yet. So far everything looks fine. Necks straight, paints fine, Frets are OK....... Looks nice.

It's a good thing I ordered it Friday. As of yesterday morning, it seems every one was out of them.
