In my opinion its better than tab. I know the notes on the guitar and if you don't you can see were the person is playing and figure out the chord or note with a small amount of trial and error. I've learned a bunch from watching the member videos on here. You look to be pretty young. If you want to impress your folks watch some of Zepplin maniac's posts he posted in this thread. He plays a lot of stuff really well. Spot on. His videos show the rhythm fingering and what you need to get the tune.

nicleback sounds out of tune... You should in standerd tuning, except for the b string. tune b string 1/2 step down.

Thats how i tuned it man, everything standard, b flat, its probably just the wrong tone setting. I tuned it right after guns and roses for this song.
