Just picked up my guitar, after a few weeks break.

I noticed that you have a single coil in the bridge, for a beefier sound you
should use a humbucker for those muted power chords, that really helps
getting a heavier tone :)

Also noticed that your guitar is strat-clone cuz of the triangular headstock, which brand it is ?

Hey thanks for the comments! Yeah I see that there are smaller humbuckers available for strat-like guitars, I think it would be worth it. BTW it's a Samick Malibu. I have to admit I feel I've improved a bit since joining this site and doing all the beginner lessons. I touched a bit of the intermediate too.

hey Bailey...1st off excellent job...sounded great ...let's see more....2nd..as part of a make-over for my strat I ordered(still not in yet:mad: ) a seymore duncan "hot rail" p/u it will go in the bridge position so i have the hot sound for metal in the bridge and also maintain the true strat sound with the 2 remaining single coils in the middle and neck positions...s/d has a page on the hot rail in their website if you want some info

Hey Ian...I never saw that video before...excellent job...definatly a Metllica song I want to learn soon (after I get through this Rush kick i'm on right now) I read your other post and this one would get my vote. And these days of Political Correctness...smoking on camera...tisk..tisk....lol...:D

SO SUE ME lol, Out of all that content on that video, smoking is what you paid the most attention too! LOL. The probelem I always see with playing this song is everyone that I have ever seen on video and even my own son playing it , plays it wrong. Though it sounds sort of the same, I think everyone who learns it, learns from a tab book and they teach the song for the wrong strings. The whole beginning riff is played in the same spot on strings 3,4 and 5. I learned this song by watching Kirk Hammet and James Hetfield playing it live and I learned it back in the 80's. I think I will teach this song the right way for those interested.

lol...i don't think a smoker can sue a smoker:o ..lol....actually my eyes were glued to your hands trying to see what you were doing until you reached out of frame..then it got my attention...and made me light up!!!....lol....I'd be very interested in this song for sure...so it's up to you..but that one has my vote...

Ya your right Mitch we would cancel eachother out in court LOL. I just seen another post in Todd's lesson thread for a request for about 10 songs from one person! Like come on! He wants Dave to teach them, I don't think Dave will look at this kind of music even though he has done a few for the vid lessons. Let me know when you wanna learn Seek and Destroy that is when your finished learning from ALex Lifeson lol. I hope your not trying to sing like Geddy Lee when your playing LOL.
