Moderator?

Whats a moderator? i thought the big bosses were just dave and tim, why are there so many moderators? and why are some people classed as members yet im just a junior member? can someone please explain this to me

Moderators keep order in the forums and make sure nothing bad happens. They're around constantly and serve that way because the owners (Tim & Dave) can't be. The mods serve as eyes-and-ears and make sure things don't get out of hand.

I think there's something like 5, maybe 6 moderators. There are so many because 1 or 2 can't be here 24 hours a day.

You're a Junior Member until you post to the forum a certain number of times. I don't know what the threshold is.

almost 3300 posts read, 500+ members to attend to, dozens and dozens of emails from Tim and David, hundreds of Private Messages ... all in little over 2 weeks.

What little time I have left ... I play guitar.

i think the number of posts you must have before you are a 'member' is 30.. its somewhere around there anyway..

A moderator is short of an administrator. They can edit topics, delete, lock, respond to lock forums or topics. I guess a super mod (dave) can ban members but I'm more use to PHpBB instead of Vbullient. Kind of scary they have so many mods already, they do seem trustworthy though :). On a free forum hoster if I had a dollar every time someone made a mod and the mod was rouge and deleted all their topics I be rich, well 50 dollars rich.

As I said I'm use to PhpBB. 550 members already? When I joined their was like 100 or so?
