I decided to record myself playing. 1) So I can see what I look like, and 2) for constructive criticism. It isn't great, but I learned this here. I'm working on strumming and chord changes.

Your chord changes were good. Strumming was fine, but with a two chord song like that you might want to try some chucking, and other messing around with strum patterns. Makes it more fun and lets you practice other things. How long have you been playing?

Very nice job man. I do have to say put the mic closer to your sound hole or plug in. It was pretty quiet. Rocks though.

Thanks guys. I know it is an easy song, but I've gotta start somewhere. I know lots of chords, but changing them is still tough for me. I've worked on You're Beautiful by James Blunt. I can get all the way through, but it sounds pretty rough. I haven't mastered chucking yet. I've only been playing seriously for 2 or 3 months.

I think you are doing a great job. Your strumming pattern looks clean, your tempo is good, and the chords ring out the way they should. There is chucking in that song that you can add, but besides that its a fine "first guitar video" Keep 'em coming !!! :D Peace

Who hasn't played a two-chord song starting out? It's learning a song like this one that gives you confidence and a sense of accomplishment, ya know? It may seem simple to play but you're also learning how to play and change chords cleanly, strumming patterns, and timing.
Down the road you're gonna post another video and we'll all see how far you've come. It's good to see a beginner video like this cuz you'll look back on it later with a great appreciation of where you started. Keep posting videos!
