Thanks guys, I think we need more stuff like this for this group. More interactive that everyone can particiapte in. I am looking through my older Guitar World cd roms to find some stuff too and some of the older mags from the 90's.

LOL, Geez you and I must be right in the same page as I was gonna post that too lol. NLG- Betcha can play this lol. The problem is , is to find those types of segments where they aren't too overly hard for the beginner. I am looking through some mags looking at tabs and such trying to find something that doesn't go from the 3rd fret to the 14th in a single motion lol. Guitar World needs to understand that not only professional and seasoned guitar players read their mag. Here's a beginner lesson ,sweep arpeggios in a lydian mode using drop d tuning and 4 finger tapping LOL.. This is the kind of thing I am looking at right now YA RIGHT!

LOL No Todd! That was just a big fat for instance lol, Like Hi we're Guitar World and if you can play this then you graduate from a beginner to a beginner with an attitude lol. No I was just reffering to that is the kind of stuff that tabulated in their mag.

I agree with ya whole heartedly there BC, I think most mags have that learning gap issue. Not to say that there aren't some easy mainstream tabs in them, but the jump goes from beginner to highly advanced techniques with very little in the middle for everyone else.
On the other hand, I'm not sure how they decide what tabs to print from month to month, but it could just be the selection process that is failing to realize these issues.
You ever wonder why there isnt a mainstream guitar mag out there that deals more so in the tab side of guitar, instead of all the articles about the up and comers and the movers and shakers. I think something like that would be a way better deal for "practicing musicians". Maybe companies like Cherry Lane have alot of control over these things and dont want to share there piece of the pie with a monthly mag, who knows?...... my 2 cents worth :D

Yep I noticed it a lot in Guitar World, there is hardly anything in those mags for the beginner or even the intermediate player. These mags I think are more geared towards the advanced-professional player alike. Guitar player mag isn't bad but is still more of an advanced players book. The fact that tabs CAN'T be posted here in this forum I think is a real pain too! What I don't understand is they can show videos of them playing the song but in no way can they post the sheet music to go along with it. That is a real contradictory thing there. If you need a tab for any song you will likely find the tab for it on the internet with little to no problems.

By the way, this is in no way opening up the tabs can of worms again it is just my oppinion.
