I know it sounds wierd but I have an electric which was my first real guitar that I got back in the late 70's. It is a Series A tele knockoff and I had taken this guitar apart many years ago and planned to change out the neck and the pickups but have since decided against that. This guitar's body is made of plywood like most cheap 100.oo electrics but when I brought it home from my parents house this past weekend I noticed that it sounded pretty good with the pickgaurd in place with no pickups. So in essence it had 2 sound holes where the pickups used to be. My question is this has anyone ever tried putting just a piezo type pickup under a pickgaurd of an electric to get an acoustic type sound? The reason I ask is I don't want to go through the processes of buying a pre-wired pickgaurd and such I just want this guitar as a practice guitar or something I can take to the cottage for something to do while the good guitars stay at home.
