Well, figured I'd actually post something for open discussion, or whatnot, been playing for slightly over a month. I am my own worst critic of course and i think it all sounds like crap but oh well :D. Made alot of mistakes in everything but overall it was all ok, i guess. Most of these were after one or two takes cause i got impatient and warm lol. Oh i might add i've had this guitar since my 16th birthday (I'm now 20... nearly 21) and haven't picked it up directly till i found this site (Its a 200 Ibanez if you were wondering, decent guitar) played through guitar pro (working on getting a camera, if anyone has any suggestions for a decent priced yet good quality web cam, do tell) anyway... on with it! (Ignore static and random string hits lol)

Green Day - Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) (http://immoralsoul.com/Audio/Greendaytimeofyourlife.mp3)

First one I picked up on (following david's lesson plan of course :D) don't quite have the picking down yet so this is strumming

Third Eye Blind - How's it Gonna Be (http://immoralsoul.com/Audio/3rdeyeblindhows.mp3)

I like this song, working on the harder part of it thought :P

Oasis - Wonderwall (http://immoralsoul.com/Audio/oasiswonderwall.mp3)

Another song I happen to like, helped me with controlling my strum pattern ALOT

Ozzy - Crazy Train (http://immoralsoul.com/Audio/ozzycrazytrain.mp3)

Great song, not so great me playing the part I did, to my own benefit, got it together in 10 min

AC/DC Thunderstruck (picking) (http://immoralsoul.com/Audio/acdcthunderstruck.mp3)

Mistakes galore, can do it better but eh, didn't want to spend all day recording, and i can do it with Hammer-ons and pull-offs but wasn't working too well for me today

Avenged Sevenfold - Beast and the Harlot (http://immoralsoul.com/Audio/a7xharlotbad.mp3)

Mistakes, Mistakes, Mistakes! and this is the only one i did like... 12-13 takes on, finally said enough and just finished it up...

Random (http://immoralsoul.com/Audio/random.mp3)

Some random tremolo picking out of shear frustration over the above song, didn't realize it was recording, figured i'd put it up lol

Well, that's it for now, i'm keeping at, love the site, rock on :D

For someone who has only been practicing for a little over a month, I think your doing very well. Overall you sound a bit tense, so you might want to focus on loosening up some, but all in all none of these clips are bad.
The first three acousric ones, you want to pay close attention to each strum pattern. There is a certain feel for each song that you want to try and emulate.
The Ozzy tune is starting to take shape by the sound of it, keep practicing.
The Thunderstruck song is also starting to come together. you seem to have a good grasp on the notation, so the next step is to practice that progression using the hammer-ons and pull-offs. ( if you are struggling with this, slow it way down untill your fingers catch on and then progressivly ( and at an even pace ) increasae the tempo to speed.
As for the Avenged Sevenfold tune, I really have no working knowledge of this song, but I liked the riffs you played and they seemed to be getting more and more fluid.
Your tremolo picking while fast, needs stamina. As with most all things guitar....this will come with practice.
IMO I think using a metronome while you practice would definitly be a benefit to you. Keep up the great work, hope this encourages you to play harder and practice longer !!! :D Peace

Thanks for commenting and giving me some tips. That's what I love about this place, not filled with people who do the whole "u sux noob" thing and actually encourage people to keep at it :D And I have no plans to stop practicing till the day i die, there's always something new to learn, or to work on!
