I am thinking about purchasing a used Epiphone SG 400. I may need to replace a tuning peg handle. Not the whole peg, just the handle. Is there a place to purchase these and other parts?
I'm mainly looking to purchase my first guitar and am trying to keep the cost down. I think I'm going to go with the Guitarport software and then just get the guitar. I have a friend that can get me a new SG400 for 250 and I'll get the warranty. He is a certified dealer.
Any advice would be great.

I really doubt that you would end up saving that much by buying the used one and fixing it, unless it is in perfect shape except for the tuner and its dirt cheap. As far as the guitar port goes, its a great computer/guitar interface, I started out using one of them hooked up to my computer, they are easy to learn and use and work great. I now use a PodXT hooked up to my computer and my amp which is really cool... good luck,

Thanks ez one.
Have you used the guitarport online features at all? I'd be interested in some of the lessons and backing tracks. BTW, he wants 100 bucks for the used guitar. I can get a new one with warranty for 250.

I also use the GP and really like it. You can slow down music with it to work on tricky parts. I have avoided the online portion as I've heard horror stories about trying to cancel.
Check out the forums on the line6 site and you'll see lots of examples of people trying to cancel.
For the guitar...the new one is probably the better choice. Granted..tuning keys aren't really expensive but you'd have to install them yourself or it'll cost as much as the new guitar ;)

From what I know the giutar port is only only $100 new, check at www.sweetwater.com as far as their online thing AVOID IT!!!!!!! I signed up for the "free month" besides having a real small player and hard to read tabs, at about 26 days I cancled. Well about 2 months latter I notice that there is a charge on my CC for it, I contact them and they ask me if I had my cancleation email (which I had deleted since it was a couple months old) so since I could not prove that I had cancled I got stuck paying for two months that I did not even use it. Then when I got the XT I was offered the "Free month" again, so I took it and cancled after about 3 weeks, well this time I saved my cancleation confermation email, and they did it again, even though I canceled they kepy billing me, this time I could prove it so I got a refund after about 3 weeks. The products are great, but their online thing is a ripoff
