i have been lookin at guitars and i have found and inexpensive gretsch but the only thing is i am afraid it is only a twangin rockabilly guitar. Don't get me wrong i can listen to chet atkins and brain setzer but i would like to play more styles with it......if anyone knows if they are versatile please do tell.....

What sound are you going for though?
It's one of the big gretsch hollowbody guitars, I'm guessing? Those are used in Blues too. Look at BB King.

What model is it?, Chet Atkins played a Gretsch and so does Malcolm Young of AC/DC, it depends on the model.

I have one Gretsch and I have gotten heavy metal tones to blues to country. So yeah it will go what you need. But mine is a high end Gretsch

i have been debating between a gretsch a gibson lp and an amerian strat or a 57 i was worried that i would only get some twang and only twang out of the gretsch......one question though what about the access to upper frets i have noticed that its built like an acoustic where the neck meets the body......
