I'm assuming anyone can post tips in this forum, so I hope that this is helpful to someone :)
I used to have this problem where my actual strap pins would fall out of the guitar, as if the holes were too big for the screws they used. I had strap locks on all of my guitars, but that doesn't really help when the screws fell out.
My solution? A wooden toothpick! Simply break off a bit of the toothpick, about the length/depth of the hole, and stick it in the hole. Then screw the strap pin back in. The toothpick basically acts as extra leverage for the screws teeth to bite into. No glue needed, nobody can tell it's there, it's CHEAP! and I'd swear by it.
I've also just bought a DiMarzio clip-lock strap and I haven't needed to use the toothpick trick because the screws that they give you to screw the strap ends into your guitar are extra extra long, and I have no fear of them coming out, so there's another option. :)
