I have a 14 years old guitar that was given to me by my father and he had a fishman pickup installed under the bridge when he bought. Yesterday I changed the strings and after doing so I noticed that the low E pickup doesnt work anymore. The other five still work except the low e. Does this mean that my pickup is toast? Anybody have any experience with these pickups? Could I have done something to the pickup while changing the strings. I have changed the strings many time before with no issues. I don't remember touching any wires or anything.
My dad said that this pickup was $120.00 years ago and was a good one.
Any advise would be appreciated

im not very technical but ive have rewound some pickups before an its my understanding that a pickup either works or it doesnt because its only one tiny piece of wire wrapped around thousands of times so if that wire breaks then the whole thing breaks so i dont think its the pickup, but i found this on the fishman site-hope it helps
FAQs-
After having an Acoustic Matrix pickup system installed in my guitar, I am noticing that some strings are louder than others. Is there something wrong with this pickup? How can this problem be solved?
It is virtually impossible for an Acoustic Matrix pickup to be more responsive in some areas and less responsive in others due to a defect in the pickup. The reason for unbalanced string volumes is a lack of even down-bearing pressure on the pickup under the weaker strings. This translates to lower volume for that particular string. This problem can be caused by many things including an uneven saddle slot, a saddle with an uneven bottom surface, a guitar that is "belly-up", a lifting or loose bridge, poor fit of the pickup in the saddle slot and an insufficient break angle of the strings over the saddle. A qualified repair shop should be able to identify which issue or issues you are dealing with and make the appropriate corrections.
