Gradely build up speed, it will come. Just stayed relaxed as much as possible (e.g no head banging, stomping, smash guitars, blowing flames.)
Deep breathes if necessary.
Or try some wrist stretches before playing.

Speed, and being relaxed, can only be mastered after you practice being clear/clean "in slow steps". Clean and clear is immediate, speed takes years.

Remember too, the thicker the muscle, the more bones, the inevidable slower the body moves. Try bridging your pinky and third finger under the strings with your picking hand and hold your pick with just two fingers, using as less bone and muscle as possible.

I also found that picking with my fingers, in particular my thumb and first finger for leads really loosened up my wrist when going back to the pick.
