Default HELP - Edgy frets on MIM Stratocaster

Hi folks!

I'm a Strat lover and I just couldn't leave this nice guitar at the local shop.
The owner asked 440$ for this babe with an original USA Fender case !

It's a 1993 but looks like new, seems like a closet one to me.

I had to lower action and setup intonation but I got another problem.
The frets on the sides of the neck are sharps, that doesn't feel nice at all.
I heard that some MIM necks were made in a hurry (to cut on price)
and sometimes you get something like this one.

What's the best way to polish them without harming anything ?
Sandpaper ? A metal file ? I'm not sure !

Thanks and here are pics of my new toy

Thanks !

Ray.

I would probably use a piece of real fine emerycloth and take your time and be real careful.

An emery board will work fine too and give you a little more control. If you want you can use that blue painters tape to protect the neck from mishaps.

Okay, will try. I'll be cautious though. Tape is a good idea, I don't want to
ruin the neck finish.

Ray.
