How to Tune Your Guitar
Tuners are vital for guitarists. Whether tuning by ear or using computer software or a pedal, tuning is necessary before one can maximize performance of his/her instrument and perform at his/her best.
Normally, if you play your guitar only on a daily basis your strings will not get out of tone. But if your guitar is rarely used or is in a bad condition or your playing is extremely hard, then most likely you need to tune your guitar always.

Oh, Really?
There's a guy around here somewhere, I think his name is David, who has some information about guitars, and tuning and training and other stuff. If you look REAL hard, you should find him and his website nearby. No need to go elsewhere!

maxenpeter if you didn't realize this forum is branched from Next Level Guitar which is a complete guitar lesson website and I find it to be incredibly annoying and actually quite disrespectful and rude to continue to advertise your products on this forum.

the light turns green when you get to any note but each string needs to have a specific note:
the biggest string should be a E next string A next D next G next B than the last E again
hope this helps

Will your tuner work on a 7 string guitar or do I need to buy a 7 string guitar tuner?

There's only one way to really do it. You have to play for a long time and develop an ear for it. You'll eventually start to know when it is right by how it sounds.
In the mean time, I'd get a guitar tuner. They're not horribly expensive (I think I bought mine for like 20-30 bucks) and they're pretty easy to use.
