Default how does a chord are "build"

Ever wonder how an A major chord is created? I was thinking of it the other day that if there's a way to know of which certain notes are needed to create a certain chord would be a great skill to have because you won't be needing to look at chord diagrams anymore. I done some research on it but i have no idea what to type on the Google search bar (like where to start). I also done a few "theories" i had in mind like finding out which notes makes a major chords. For instance, a C major chord consist of (E C G F# D x) notes. i can't relate to it at all! how would one know which notes are required for a (A - G) major, minor, suspended, 7th, etc? If someone can explain to me how does it work in detail, I would gladly read and learn from it!

I am an intermediate level guitar player.

Major chords require only the I-III-V.
Minor chords require only the I-bIII-V.

All the other voicings just add that specific color, i.e 6th chord adds the 6th scale degree.

You use the major scale to know what notes are the right notes.

Key of C: I=C, III=E, V=G.

Of course there is some more depth here, but this is the basic concept and the first place to start and first thing to understand before moving forward with chord construction.

Default Notes

Hi,

I've started to play again after 30 years. Next level guitar was a great help. I also was looking for some more background behind the chords. from info from next level guitar and the net I have created a little webpage where I tried to explain (first of all to myself) how chords are made. It helped me. I hope it can be usefull for others.
