Default Opinion about VOX AD50VT , nice amp ?

Hi, I need some feedback here about this amp.

Looks like a neat amp, I know VOX makes nice amps and this one
looks interesting cuz they aren't too much expensive and they has tubes.

What I'm afraid of is the effects section, maybe the digital circuit will ruin the
main purpose of the tubes warmth, am I wrong ?

I'm totally ignorant about this combo so that's why I'm asking advice about it.

Thanks

Ray.

Default Vox Ad30vt

I have the VOX AD30VT and love it! ...although I must admit it took a while of playing around to find the combination's that suited my tastes in tone. Plays plenty loud and I rarely feel the need to turn the master volume past 1/4 way.
I play a Les Paul Studio with Wolfetone's Dr Vintage in the Neck and Marshallhead in the bridge and I get fantastic tone.
In my opinion it is a great amp and a great buy.

I had a 30 and it was a great amp well worth the price, several great features and really nice tone. The first one I bought had a problem, and Vox just sent me a new one and had me ship the old one back at their expense. Good people to do business with.

Thank you guys !

Yeah, to find your own combination (or tone), all amps must be "tamed" .

I have a Kustom amp, which most of the serious players told me that it's a "beginner" amp but a decent one.

I kinda agree with that. I almost have the tone I'm looking for (without any pedals) , just using the right amount of gain and playing with the treble/mid/bass pots BUT the sound still has that "digital" and "no soul" tone that sticks with it, no matter what you'll do with the controls.

I'm sure that the VOX AD ain't no Ac30 but I wanted to be sure I won't get something similar to what I already have right now.

Thanks for the input

Ray.

I have heard that it is a good inexpensive amp, but ut is not a true TUBE AMP. I think it only has 1 tube to get the tube sound. Look at the Peavey All Tube amps, not expensive either but they don't have the MP-3 and headphone output like the Vox does. Look at the Bugera tube amps. They are about the lowest cost of all tube amps. Less than 500.00 for a 50Watt amp.

The Valvetronics series are considered a hybrid amp tube/digital you do get a really decent tube tone from them but you also get the advantage of digital effects. Vox digital effects are extreamly well designed and you can bypass them and just play the amp straight. For someone on a limited budget wanting a good soild amp I would have them on my short list for sure. Budget tube amps are just that. Also something to consider is with just a straight tube amp if you plan on using any effects you will have to buy them seperately. And good effects pedals are not cheap. (I have over $1000 tied up in mine) Another advantage to the Valvetronic 30 watt and 50 watt is that they have a dial on the back that lets you control the power going to the speaker, so you can have the amp cranked up enough to drive the tubes, but the output low enough that you can practice in your bedroom without pissing off everyone in the house.

Amen ez-one, When you start getting pedals like Fulltone and get a Keeley Mod they are not cheap at all. I like those Kanji Love pedals, they have many different sounding ones and they avg 175.00 Ouch!
I was at Guitar Center yesterday and a friend of mine " The Tone King" reviews the Bugera line of amps. I played thru the small 22 watt Tube amp and that thing has plenty of power and great tube tone. I really want the 55 Watt Bugera Head. Under 500.00
